Situated in Stalida near Heraklion city, Cactus Mare Hotel offers a serene retreat overlooking the majestic Cretan Sea. As the newest addition to the esteemed Cactus Hotels Family, this seaside haven boasts 90 rooms, including suites with private pools and hot tubs, alongside a range of amenities such as restaurants, bars, a main pool, beach bar, gym, and spa facilities. At the heart of hotel’s architectural design is the seamless integration of two distinct textures and ages of buildings into a unified complex. The aesthetic mirrors the signature style of the Cactus Hotels Family, blending stone and wood with modern-rustic details to evoke a warm and luxurious ambiance. In the majority of the compact rooms, the challenge was to create an expansive feeling without compromising on comfort or luxury. This was achieved by rethinking the layout: removing compact bathroom partitions, reducing bathroom space by integrating sinks into the main area, and designing low-profile storage furniture to optimize space without sacrificing essential amenities expected in a 5-star hotel room.

A key feature of the hotel’s design is the creation of a central axis that spans two levels, connecting customer service areas (like reception) directly to the beachfront. This axis serves as the main thoroughfare, linking previously disparate buildings and providing seamless access to all essential facilities. Unused spaces were ingeniously integrated into the design, enhancing the hotel’s capacity and guest experience. The decorative style reflects a commitment to meeting the high standards of the Cactus Hotels Brand while avoiding trends that might quickly saturate the market. The design ethos prioritizes longevity and sophistication, ensuring that the hotel maintains its allure and appeal to discerning travelers seeking enduring elegance.

Cactus Mare Hotel epitomizes a harmonious blend of modern luxury and traditional charm against the breathtaking backdrop of the Cretan Sea. With its thoughtful architecture, innovative room designs, and commitment to timeless style, the hotel promises guests a memorable and indulgent retreat infused with warmth and hospitality. Whether relaxing by the pool, enjoying a rejuvenating spa treatment, or exploring the vibrant local culture, visitors to Cactus Mare Hotel are sure to experience a truly enriching stay.
