Situated in Stalida near the city of Heraklion, Cactus Mare Hotel offers a serene retreat overlooking the majestic Cretan Sea.As the nearest addition to the esteemed Cactus Hotels Family,this seaside haven features 90 rooms , including suites with private pools and hot tubs.Guests can enjoy a wide range of amenities such as restaurants, bars a main pool, a beach bar, a gym and spa facilities.At the heart of the hotel’s architectural approach lies the seamless integration of two buildings of different textures and eras into a unified complex. The design reflects the signature style of the Cactus Hotels Family, combining stone and wood with modern-rustic accents to create a warm yet luxurious atmosphere.In most of compact rooms, the challenge was to create a sense of spaciousness without compromising comfort of luxury.
This was achieved by reimagining the layout : removing bulky bathroom partitions, reducing bathroom size by incorporating sinks into the main area, and designing low-profile storage units that optimize space while maintaining the essential amenities expected in a 5 – star hotel.A key architectural feature of the hotel is a central axis that spans two levels, connecting customer service areas – such as the reception- directly to beachfront.This axis acts as the main pathway linking previously disconnected buildings and providing guests with seamless access to all essential facilities. Unused areas were cleverly repurposed and incorporated into the overall design, enhancing both the hotel’s capacity and the guest experience.The decorative style reflects the hight standards of the Cactus Hotels Brand while avoiding short-lived trends that might quickly date the space. Instead the design prioritizes longevity , refinement and timeless elegance , ensuring that the hotel continues to appeal to discerning travelers. Mare Hotel embodies a harmonious blend of modern luxury and traditional charm, set against the breathtaking backdrop od the Cretan Sea.
