Cactus Mare Hotel

Cactus Mare Hotel is located in Stalida, close to Heraklion city, and is built on the seaside having full view of the Cretan Sea. It is the most recent member of the Cactus Hotels Family and it contains 90 rooms. It includes rooms and suites with private pools and hot tubs, restaurant, bar, a main pool, beach bar, gym as well as spa facilities.

The combination of the use of stone and wood create a harmonious environment based on providing comfortable, warm and luxurious hospitality to guests.

The main axis in the architectural design was the unification of the two different textures and ages of the buildings into one single complex. The architectural style of the complex promotes the image of the other existing units of the Cactus Hotels Family (stone, wood, modern-rustic details and warm atmosphere).

In the small area rooms (which constitute the majority) the feeling of a much larger space was a necessity and is attributed through: the removal of the compact bathroom partitions, the reduction of bathroom space by placing a sink in the main space and the creation of low storage furniture to reduce the volume of the main closet. All of the above are carried out without deducting anything from the services that a 5* hotel room has to offer.

Emphasis was placed on the creation of a central axis of movement of two levels that starts from the customer service (reception) until the beach. The accesses to all the nodal points are placed on this axis, thus connecting the buildings that previously seemed completely unconnected. Spaces that previously were unexploited were integrated into the design and increased the capacity of the complex.

The decorative style satisfies all the requirements of the Hotel Brand without copying design styles that temporarily dominate and flood the tourist market.
